Prince George, B.C. – Fresh off an evening of praising some of the most dedicated volunteers we have at the 2016 Civic Appreciation Dinner, some of those same award presenters decided to follow the example and put their words into action today.
This is the day of the Annual Spring Clean-up, with garbage pins placed strategically from one end of the city to the other to encourage citizens to walk their neighbourhood, collect any litter they may find and deposit it into those bins.
City Communications Officer Mike Kellett says 5 thousand people registered for the project, which started at 10 this morning and runs until 4 pm. A contingent from City Hall was led by Mayor Lyn Hall and his wife Lorelle, City Manager Kathleen Soltis, Councilors Murry Krause, Garth Frizzell and Jillian Merrick, Councilor Frizzell’s mom Sue and his children Ioan, Ethan and Linus. Kellett says everyone at City Hall gives a big “Thank You” to all participating in today’s city-wide clean-up, with a strong note of appreciation going to REAPS for organizing the event for the City.

Kudo’s to all who participated in this clean up campaign.
Our Mayor and Council seem to be in the thick of things on a regular basis.
Kudos definitely…..
“City Communications Officer Mike Kellett”….so what exactly does Mr. $150,000 a year Rob Van Absenticum do ?
No freaking kidding!
Rob, Rob, come out from wherever you are?
Saw Rob out yesterday picking up garbage around Domano. He was doing his part.
Didn’t realize we needed to register? Hope bylaw doesn’t come after us for unregistered garbage removal.
Also woulda been nice if it was free day at the dump for household garbage, then maybe people wouldn’t dump in the forest.. or let households use the designated dumpsters like they used to be
