Prince George, B.C. – Multi-Material BC (MMBC) is doing what it can to raise recycling awareness in Prince George.

The province-wide recycling organization has provided a $4,500 grant to the Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society (REAPS).

Executive Director Terri McClymont with REAPS says they are pleased to partner with the organization that first brought recycling to Prince George in 2014.

“Our residents have embraced recycling, but still have questions that we can help address through on-the-ground outreach and education. This funding and formal partnership helps with our efforts.”

She says the grant will go towards things such as advertising, creative displays, community events and programs in local schools.

The $4,500 was part of $14,000 MMBC provided to four organizations province-wide. The other grants went to The Northern Environmental Action Team in Fort St. John, the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society in Maple Ridge and Let’s Talk Trash with the Powell River Regional District.
