“So each of these activities are designed to showcase in-demand jobs in B.C. and lets kids practice the hands on skills that they would need to learn about those jobs,” says Jessica Giles, tour supervisor with the Find Your Fit Tour.
“The whole purpose of the program is set up to make sure B.C. people are first in line for B.C. jobs and the government really believes that getting an early start to that is the best way to ensure that that happens.”
On site activities include a welding simulator, a nurses first-aid station, an electronics technician table and a heavy equipment claw game.
“I encourage families to swing by and learn about the jobs that are available to them. Learn about the great resources that WorkBC offers to everybody and to have a good time.”
According to the provincial government, more than 68,000 students have taken part in the tour so far, most recently in Prince Rupert and Delta.
