Job Fair at IMSS
Prince George, B.C. – Job seekers should circle May 26th on their calendars.
The Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society (IMSS) have scheduled a job fair that day and according to organizer Laurie Dillman, employers are looking to hire.
“The employers who are coming need employees. They are specifically looking. It’s a great opportunity to learn the names of the recruiters of these organizations.”
She says a dozen companies have already confirmed their attendance and represent a range of fields.
“Finance, forestry, industry, the City of Prince George, business and administration.”
Dillman recommends bringing a resume and dressing appropriately for the occasion.
“Go with the mindset that you’re dressing like you would dress in the job that you’re looking for. So if you’re looking for a professional position dress like a professional.”
She says introductions are also key.
“Learn the recruiters name, ask for their card and hold it. Then at least you can have that in your hand and you can look down if you forget their name.”
And don’t forget to follow up with an email.
“Start to build a relationship and that person will remember you. Especially if you start that relationship.”
The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the IMSS office at 1270 2nd Avenue. It’s open to the public.

The only one that will find employment is the persons putting on the job fair. How many hundreds will they have in line waiting this time?
