Prince George, B.C. – A van and a truck were badly damaged in a two vehicle crash on Highway 16 east earlier this evening.

A witness tells 250New it happened just after 5:30 p.m. just past the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre.

Despite the severity of the incident, there are no reported injuries. No word yet on what caused the collision.

No word yet on what caused the collision.

Not to worry the 250 News TSB team will chime in and straighten this whole thing out.

I’m cooking the popcorn now.

It looks like both vehicles tried to occupy the same space.

So shortly after Fancon, one has to wonder whether there is any connection. ;-)

    Now that was funny!

The liberals should raise the fines on crashes. Maybe that will stop them.

I got it from Facebook from the mother of the pickup owner, that the truck was parked on the shoulder broken down. She also added that the driver who hit it admitted to being on the phone at the time.

Don’t crucify me just reporting what I read on another site ;-)

This picture is a good reason for raising fines for distracted driving offences.

Because they prevented this crash? Nice logic.

And what exactly would you propose to eliminate this problem?

There are devices/apps available which will disable a cell phone in a car. However, I believe that there are none that will differentiate between a passenger using a cell from a driver.

There has been an app available for about 6 years which is linked to the Global Positioning System that will detect the speed of the vehicle and inactivate the phone if it is moving.

      There are many others available.

In some ways similar to blowing into a meter for those who have a DUI and have to show they have no alcohol in their blood before they can drive.

I would be down with that.

So ICBC will reimburse the parked vehicle owner and deny coverage to the distracted driver and sue them for damages right? If that’s what happened here.

ICBC will find both drivers 75% to blame and raise everyone’s rates just cause
