Aqua Van Coming to Exploration Place
Prince George, B.C.- The Vancouver Aquarium’s “Aqua Van” will be in Prince George this weekend.“The Vancouver Aquarium got a grant for doing outreach, so we got a phone call out of the blue asking if they could come and do a date with us” says Exploration Place CEO Tracy Calogheros.
So, they worked on a date that would work for both the museum and Aqua Van and that date is Sunday May 22nd and the Aqua Van will be on site from noon until 4 p.m..
“They will bring live critters with them” says Cologheros “The van itself is literally a big truck and it be out in front of the museum on Sunday and they will bring touch tanks, as I understand it, into the atrium itself.”
Touch tanks are shallow aquariums which allow folks to actually handle the creatures.
The best news is that this visit won’t cost visitors a cent. “It’s 100% free, even the stuff in the atrium is all being provided at no charge” however access into the rest of the museum will see regular charges apply.
“The AquaVan is an outstanding chance to meet our underwater neighbours up close and personal,” said Tracy Calogheros.

I can’t help but think handling live sea creatures can’t be all that good for them.
Maybe I’m wrong.
I don’t think the sea urchins and starfish are going to mind all that much.
