Prince George, B.C. – If you plan on heading out and enjoying the great outdoors this weekend, be sure to play by the rules.
The Ministry of Environment says conservation officers, natural resource officers and park rangers will be ramping up patrols to make sure everybody behaves.
“Increased patrols will be targeted at recreation sites, backcountry access, angling, boat safety and hunting activities,” reads a ministry news release. “The enhanced enforcement will focus on environment, fish and wildlife regulations, as well as the use of parks and recreation areas.”
An additional duty for CO’s will be enforcing off-road vehicle registration.
“The increased presence of conservation officers in these areas will help promote compliance, discourage illegal activities and protect B.C.’s sensitive ecosystems for future generations.”
In addition, the ministry urges British Columbians to check for local campfire bans and restrictions before you begin your holiday.

Good idea to send out extra patrols on the long weekend just so we the tax payers can pay them triple time on Monday.
Well, I guess we know who supports poaching.
Not to mention any oversight at all. If it weren’t for ignorant stupid people all of these officers wouldn’t have to do extra duty on long weekends.
I agree. It really pisses me off that all the stupid people on this planet are causing restrictions on my and other responsible peoples fun. You should all just go find a bridge and jump.
