Prince George, B.C. – A busy agenda on tap for the Prince George School Board tonight.

Trustees are expected to give third and final reading to the 2016-17 annual budget bylaw. school board

The first two readings were given unanimously at a meeting two weeks ago.  The total budget bylaw amount totals $148,196,205.

In order to balance the budget, the Board is being forced to dip into its surplus to the tune of $1,045,171.

The Board will also discuss videoconferencing to help support the needs of rural students, teachers and staff. Any decision to move forward with expanding videoconferencing will be subject to additional funding and grants.

Finally, the Board is expected to green light a request from the City of Prince George to support its bid to host either the 2020 or 2022 BC Summer Games.

Part of that support would include making available school facilities to stage sport competitions and accommodate participants at no cost to the Host Society, the City of Prince George or the BC Games Society.
