Sanitary Sewer Upgrade for Edgewood Elementary
Prince George, B.C. – Parking lot concerns are one step closer to being addressed at Edgewood Elementary School.
This after the Prince George School Board unanimously agreed to allocate $230,000 from its local capital reserve to proceed with a sanitary sewer project at the school.
According to Education Services Committee Chair Sharel Warrington; student, pedestrian and parking lot concerns need to be addressed in order to improve access to the school.
As per the Board’s Five Year Annual Facility Grant Plan, the Board was planning for upgrades in time for the 2017-18 school year but before those improvements can begin the school’s sanitary sewer must be connected to the City of Prince George system.
The parking lot upgrades is subject to the City of Prince George project on the adjacent roadways. The District’s local capital reserve balance as of March 31, 2016, was $1,128,212.
The Board approved the project at its meeting last night.
