Prince George, B.C. – If this morning is any indication, there’s a lot of interest in job opportunities at the soon to be opened Lowe’s Store at Pine Centre Mall.
Today is day one the home improvement retail chain giant’s job fair.
Jay Maybin, store manager
“We’ve been very, very busy,” says store manager Jay Maybin. “We saw people lined up this morning when we arrived here at 9 o’clock. It’s been well received with good applicants.”
If you are interested in one of the 130 permanent positions or 5-10 seasonal jobs, he suggests you apply online first.
“Apply at lowes.ca/careers and bring a resume. We’re spending 5-10 minutes with each person.”
The company will be hiring for full time and part time positions in a wide variety of roles including department managers, sales specialists, night crew, cashiers and customer service associates.
Today’s job fair runs until 7 tonight but it will resume again from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. tomorrow and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The store is scheduled to open late this summer.

It’s Lowes. I doubt they expect anyone to show up in a tie.
I assume you wanted to say, they would be one of the first off my list.
Geeze, could they put chairs any closer together???
Yes dpj, because only dirt bag losers wear jeans……..what a stupid thing to say. It’s Lowes – they’ll probably wear jeans to work. Seems totally appropriate.
