New Leaf Launching In July
Prince George, B.C. – NewLeaf Travel, a no frills passenger carrier, will officially launch its first flights July 25th, and while there are 12 Canadian cities on its schedule, Prince George is not one of them.
NewLeaf will operate flights to and from 5 B.C. airports, Abbotsford, Kamloops, Kelowna, Fort St. John and Victoria. The other seven Canadian cities are: Halifax, Moncton, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon and Edmonton.
Flights are booked directly through New Leaf, and the airline says passengers can “customize” their journey by adding thinks like on flight beverages, seat selection, and carry on baggage, each option will increase a passenger’s ticket price.
Initially, New Leaf had planned to have its first flights off the ground in February, but ran up against Transport Canada over its business model. Transport Canada has now given the green light and the flights are set to take off on July 25th.
