The 6’3”, 210-pound native of Duncan, B.C. was drafted in the third round (71st overall) of today’s NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.
Anderson suited up in 39 games this past season recording one goal, five assists and 86 penalty minutes.
The 18-year old’s season was cut short after suffering a back injury mid-way through the season at a game in Vancouver.
He’s the second Cougar to be drafted by the Avalanche, the first was Troy Bourke, also in the third round, in 2012.
The Cougars originally selected Anderson in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 2013 WHL Draft.
