Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP have numerous resources on scene following the discovery are what are believed to be human remains off Highway 97, across from Pine Centre mall.

Several officers, including personnel from the Forensic Identification Unit, converged on an area in the bushes just off the northbound lanes of the bypass early this afternoon.   However, police are providing no information on the matter at this time.

Cpl Aaron Whitehouse says police became aware of the matter only recently and need time to assess the situation.  Asked whether indeed a body had been discovered Cpl Whitehouse would not provide confirmation, saying only that it was not a pretty scene.  He requested no photographs be taken of the immediate scene.

Police will be providing information on the matter later this afternoon.

Initial, and as yet unconfirmed information is that a trucker driving on the bypass spotted something in the gully from his cab and notified authorities.

250 News will have further information once it becomes available.

and the plot thickens…

Should any of us be surprised if this pour soul was connected to the other recent shootings and murder in PG. Or at least to the similar crowd. This is getting outrageous.

Coulda been an overdose, coulda been a hit and run, could a been a medical issue, we don’t know squat.

Very true Grizzly2 sadly too many posters here are quick to make snap judgements or their own conclusions before the actual facts are known

A trucker passing by saw something in the gully?? hmmmm Can’t even see anything as I’m driving..

My dad worked for highways for 33 years and it was amazing what he found in the ditch or in the tree line when your job is driving truck for a living being it short or long haul you tend to start looking for things out of place or something that glints in the ditch

Let’s face it their jobs are on the road staring at it for 8, 10, 12 or 16 hours a day 5 days a week anything that breaks the monotony of their drive to help them keep focused. You may not agree with it but that is your opinion this is mine
