Library Gets in on Pokémon Go Craze
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Public Library is trying to capitalize on the Pokémon Go phenomenon.
It’s doing so by offering a twist on its popular Downtown Walking Tour with the addition of the Pokémon Go Walking Tour.
“We’re starting at the library and we’re going to put some lures up on the two Pokey stops that we have here,” says Paige Malmgren, the library’s heritage project assistant and tour leader. “And then we’ll be heading around to 16 Pokey stops and four gyms.”
As an added bonus she says they’ve partnered with the Black Donkey Café who will be handing out coupons to anyone who joins the tour.
“Pokémon Go has obviously gotten really, really popular so it’s a really good way for the library to get involved in the community and it’s also allowing us to reach a demographic (20-30 year olds) that a lot of our programming doesn’t hit.”
She says the tours will take place on Wednesday’s – starting tomorrow – beginning at 8 p.m. They will run through Wednesday, August 24th.
