Prince George, B.C. – It’s one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for Big Brothers Big Sisters Prince George (BBBSPG), and it’s just a week away.
The Big Squeeze goes August 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with all proceeds going towards proactive mentoring programs.
Operations and events assistant Cassie Lobban calls the event “a fun day that allows for some friendly competition between businesses as teams compete to see who has the best secret lemonade recipe.”
She says businesses that register set up their lemonade stand and sell their lemonade by donation to the community.
“The goal is to raise as much money as possible so last year we were just shy of $10,000 and this year we’re hoping to surpass that and get up to $12,000.”
Lobban adds it pretty easy to participate. “We supply all the lemonade and the syrup and you just need to promote your stand.”
Participants have a chance at winning two awards – one for the best tasting lemonade as decided by a panel of judges and another for the team who raises the most money.
If your business would like to take part she encourages you to give BBBS PG a call at 250-563-7410.
