Drowning Victim Identified

Williams Lake, B.C. – The BC Coroners Service has identified the name of the man who drowned near Williams Lake on July 31st.

He was 35-year-old Shane Colebank of Williams Lake. Colebank slipped and fell into the Fraser River while fishing near the Xats’ull Heritage Site that day.

Five days later a tour guide out with his group spotted the body in the river three kilometres north of Dog Creek and contacted the authorities.

The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate.
