CN Steps Up to the Plate
Prince George, B.C. – Tomorrow will be CN Aboriginal Youth Day at The World Baseball Challenge.
CN made it possible by sponsoring 250 tickets for local Aboriginal youth to come and watch a game.
The tickets have gone to the Lheidli T’enneh, Prince George Native Friendship Centre, CNC Student Union, Carrier Sekani Family Services and Kikino Metis Children & Family Services Society.
“At CN we are committed to being engaged in the communities we serve,” said CN Aboriginal relations manager Stephanie Ziemer. “CN values the relationships we have with Aboriginal communities in BC and across Canada.”
“It was important to recognize the Lheidli T’enneh as we are participating on their traditional territory,” added WBC chair Rick Pattie. “The committee thought it was important to give back to the local Aboriginal communities to Prince George and surrounding areas. When we approached CN, they were excited to be able to join in on this event and we are proud to have CN Aboriginal Youth Day.”
The tournament runs through to August 20, 2016.
