PGNFC is partnering with the National Association of Friendship Centres, the Royal Bank of Canada, the Rina M. Bidin Foundation along with other community corporate sponsors who have also contributed through cash donations, discounts, goods and services and hours of volunteerism.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 6 at 1600-3rd Avenue from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (the deadline to register is August 26 at PGNFC reception).

Each registered student will receive a free backpack with school supplies. There will also be free lunch, a clothing exchange, free haircuts and face painting.

“We extend our hand of friendship to families with school age children K-12 to join us for our 2nd annual Back to School event,” says PGNFC executive director Barb Ward-Burkitt. “It is our honour to offer this amazing opportunity to families who are getting their children ready for the upcoming school year.”

Last year’s inaugural event was a major success and featured plenty of excitement and big lineups from inside the PGNFC on to the sidewalk and out on to Third Avenue.
