Tire Recycling Plant Approved

Prince George, B.C. – The Regional District of Fraser Fort George has cleared the way for a tire recycling plant to be developed on the site of the former Clear Lake Sawmill site. The rezoning would allow the development of the tire and rubber recycling facility and multiple residential housing on the site.
The recycling facility will use a mechanical process to grind waste tires into a rubber crumb for re-use in new products. The zoning amendment will also allow future manufacturing uses.
That’s not to say the facility will be operating right away as it still has to meet the Provincial regulatory requirements for emissions to air, water, or land, community drinking water and sewage systems as well as road access.

LOL… of course not, it is most likely a minimum five (5) years away, probably around the 2nd provincial election date, but we all know why this needs to be announced now, don’t we? Yup election coming up in a few months so… we got high hopes, high hopes, high in sky, pie hopes! LOL.
They should take on something a little more simple like maybe painting lines on the street.
