Prince George, B.C. – Some star power has been added to the inaugural Prince George Chain Saw Carving Competition at the British Columbia Northern Exhibition (BCNE) this weekend.
Paul Frenette and son Jacob from the TV series ‘Carver Kings’ are in town showing off their talents.
“Randy Gauthier organized the event and said ‘come on out’,” says Paul. “So I said I’d come out and help them, bring our names to the event and try to drum up some excitement to our show.”

‘Carver Kings’ recently wrapped it’s first season and is a spin-off of the popular program ‘Timber Kings’ whereby the cast’s job is to create “one-of-a-kind” carvings for their clients.
He says they’re goal is roughly the same this weekend.
“We’re doing the quick carves at around 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day and maybe one in the evening if we have more crowds around,” says Paul. “And we’ve got the main pieces we’re carving – that’s the competition section.”
The Chain Saw Carving Competition runs through Sunday.
