Monday, August 29, 2016 @ 8:34 PM

Prince George, B.C.- Job action that would see  Postal Workers  refuse overtime work in B.C and the Yukon  as of  12:01 Tuesday morning,   has been put on hold for  24 hours.

The announcement came  just moments ago as the two sides in the contract negotiations try to resolve their differences and reach a new contract.

In a statement , CUPW  President, Mike Palecek   says  the union  is “hopeful that a ngotiated settlement may be achieved, bu we remain prepared to defend our members”

The contract talks have been  underway   for nine months.

The key issues for the union remain  pensions for  new employees and  pay scales for  rural postal workers.
