Busy Weekend At UNBC
Prince George, B.C. The University of Northern BC has the welcome mat out this weekend for students and their parents as tomorrow is move in day at the student residences.“Our residences are about 99.9% full” says UNBC President Daniel Weeks. He says those not staying on campus, have been able to find accommodation in other parts of the city of Prince George ” We’re hearing that students are finding housing, We’ve seen no particular challenges in finding housing. Again , that’s one of the great things about living in Prince George, there’s opportunities off campus as well as on.”
Tomorrow’s move in day starts at 8 in the morning and will include a residence welcome lunch from 11-1 followed by dining hall tours, a welcome to parents, a residence community dinner, then mandatory building and floor meetings followed by an evening of fun events .
But the welcome events don’t stop on Sunday.
Registration is set for Labour Day, and that day will offer tours of the City as well as campus tours so students know the locations of their classrooms. Students can attend a session on Tuesday to meet the faculty, before taking part in a free BBQ lunch, which is followed by an official welcoming ceremony Tuesday afternoon.
At CNC, the orientation and welcome week is highlighted with a Toonie BBQ on Tuesday, and a Student Life expo on Thursday.
