Saturday, September 10, 2016 @ 6:51 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Supporters in Prince George will be joining counterparts in more than 20 other B.C. communities over the next week to raise funds to fight Parkinson’s Disease.

Parkinson SuperWalk is the largest fundraising event held annually by the Parkinson Society of BC.  Participants raise money for research and support services by collecting pledges and corporate sponsorships.  The goal this year is to raise a minimum $440,000 across the province.

Proceeds will go toward providing programs and services to the nearly fourteen thousand British Columbians who suffer the effects of Parkinson’s Disease.

The Prince George SuperWalk is being held today at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.  Registration begins at 12 noon at the picnic shelter off 17th Avenue, with the walk beginning at 12:30 pm.  Each lap of the walk course covers 1 ½ miles.
