Prince George, B.C. – Once again there has been an outstanding turnout in Prince George for the Parkinson’s SuperWalk.

People afflicted with Parkinson’s, a chronic and progressive disease which attacks the nervous system, family members, friends and supporters gathered at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Saturday to raise money for research and support programs and services.  They had collected pledges and monies from business contributors and did laps of the 1.5 mile walk course.

Local organizer Ron Corbett was extremely pleased with the turnout and says approximately 120 people took part.  Asked whether that is a record here he said “it’s right up there, yes.  I may well have topped previous years.”

Corbett says once outstanding monies are received the Prince George fundraising total will be over $10,000.

More than 20 BC communities are conducting Parkinson SuperWalks over the next week, with a provincial fundraising goal of $440,000.
