Baby Boomer Week at the Y
Prince George, B.C. – Baby boomer’s looking to get fit will want to take advantage of a special offer at the YMCA of Northern BC starting this Sunday.
In light of a new partnership with Aging with Attitude Week, the Y is offering boomer’s free seven day memberships from September 25 to October 1.
“The boomer demographic represents a large and valuable portion of our community population,” says Stephanie Mikalishen, the YMCA’s manager of philanthropy, marketing and camps. “This boomer initiative is important to the YMCA mission to build healthy communities and support people of all ages to thrive.”
Anyone in the community born between 1946 to 1964 is asked to bring photo ID with proof of birth date, starting September 25 to receive their free one-week membership.
“We feel it is our responsibility to support the community through each phase of aging,” adds Mikalishen. “It is our intent to provide opportunities for individuals to engage in healthy living through social connection and physical activity to promote healthier habits long after the week is over.”
