UNBC Student Fundraiser to Benefit AiMHi

Tuesday, September 20, 2016 @ 8:27 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The Northern Undergraduate Student Society (NUGSS) will hold their annual fundraiser this coming Saturday.

Formally know for many years as ‘Shinerama’, the event is now known as ‘Northern Students Give Back,’ or NSGB.

Leaders from dozens of student led organizations including the Commerce Student Society, the UNBC Music Club, the Outdoors Club and others will be out performing different activities to raise funds for AiMHi – an organization that supports and services people who have special needs and their families.

The focal point of the fundraiser will be a by donation barbecue at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m.

It will also feature face painting, Zen exercise and musical productions.

“Northern Students Give Back has three main goals. Firstly, we want students to get into Prince George and connect with the community, because we can get too focused on our studies up on the hill,” says Ana Saenz, vice president of Internal Affairs.

“Secondly, we like to get students to get involved with the network of student led organizations that exist for their benefit. Lastly, we want to give back to the Prince George community and other not-for-profits that help so many people out every day.”
