Foothills Landfill Subject of Video Series
Prince George, B.C.- The Regional District of Fraser fort George has produced a series of videos to give area residents a better understanding of what happens at the Foothills Landfill.
The series is entitled ‘Your Landfill Matters’ and gives viewers a behind the scenes look at the Foothills site.
“It’s the one service the Regional District provides that impacts the largest amount of people in the region on a regular basis, yet because of the complexity involved, it’s also one of the most misunderstood,” says Rachael
Ryder, Waste Diversion Program Leader. “So we wanted to do something to help people understand what happens at the landfill.”
About 96% of municipal solid waste created within the Regional District ends up at the Foothills site.
This public education campaign will feature a number of short videos, each focusing on a different aspect of operations at the landfill. Subjects include composting , the gas capture system and the entrance relocation project. The videos are being posted to YouTube ( search regional District of Fraser Fort George) the Regional District’s website and Facebook page.
