Traffic Flag Person Injured in Early Morning Crash
Prince George, B.C. – A crash this morning at the Highway 16 widening project near Haldi Road, sent one flag person to hospital with minor injuries.
Around 6 this morning, traffic control workers were setting up at the construction site when their vehicle was struck by an eastbound Toyota Camray.
One of the flag persons was hurt, and was taken to hospital and later released. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
This is the second serious incident involving traffic control people in Prince George in the past couple of months. Over the summer, a female flag person was struck and killed at a road construction site in the Hart. WorkSafe BC is still investigating that incident. That incident prompted the Mayor and RCMP to call for drivers to be extra careful in construction zones .
