Prince George, B.C. – Motorists heading north beware.snowflake

The first significant snowfall of the season is currently impacting the Peace River District and southern Fort Nelson region of British Columbia.

Environment Canada blames the winter burst on an early season Arctic front that will continue to push down across BC today while a moist Pacific front streams up from southern B.C.

It’s expected to bring snow over sections of the Alaska Highway south of Fort Nelson and increased snow over the B.C. Peace as the day progresses.

10 to 15 cm of snowfall is expected today with the heavier snow easing to flurries by midnight tonight.

Motorists are reminded to adjust their driving habits with the changing road conditions.

As for Prince George, the national forecaster says there’s a 40% chance of showers or flurries tonight easing to a 30% chance of the same tomorrow.
