Prince George, B.C. – Prince George loves a good garage sale and that was never more evident than at today’s Junk in the Trunk event in the CN Centre parking lot.
Organized by both the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and REAPS, 137 people registered to take part this time.
“It’s a great way to keep things out of the landfill,” said REAPS executive director Terri McClymont. “It’s an opportunity for groups to come together, individuals that live in apartments that don’t have the opportunity to have a garage sale.”
The event is held biannually – once in the spring and again in the fall.

It was great to see so many vendors there and hopefully they sold a lot of their junk! The $10 fee is certainly minimal for them, and if it was held earlier in September, when hopefully, the weather is warmer, I’m thinking there would be a higher attendance. Better yet, why not have a few more of them throughout the summer?
Terri was just fresh from organizing River’s Day last week and is one of the most full-throttle, hair-straight back people I know. While suggestions to improve are awesome, I would the best way to contribute your thoughts would be to volunteer for REAPS and make them come to life.
