Chethan Lakshman, is Shaw’s vice-president, communications and public relations:

“Early this morning, Shaw service technicians were notified of a hardware failure along our network between Prince George and Williams Lake. This failure resulted in a service outage that impacted a number of Shaw Internet and Shaw Business customers.

“Shaw technicians replaced the faulty hardware at 10:20 a.m. PT, and restored service to our customers in the area soon after. We offer our sincere apologies to any of our customers affected by this outage.”

The company declined to say exactly how many customers were affected. The service disruption began early this morning.

Go Telus and have way less issues. Only ISP worse than Shaw in Bell.

I was left without service yesterday from Shaw. But I would have to say, it happens.

Benny, saying Telus is great is pretty funny. I get the feeling like either you own shares or work for them.

I have some friends at work on Telus and they say they have their share of problems too. Channels with glitches and disruptions here and there.

The thing I like about Shaw is they don’t make me sign into some crazy 2 year contract.

But I don’t pretend to think that any of the internet/tv/phone providers are leaps and bounds better than the other. They are all making a pretty penny on all of us and there really isn’t a lot of good deals out there.

The only deal out there seems to be switching between carriers and getting their sign up deals, e.g. a tablet or a cheap intro rate for 6 months. But I’m just not into switching over every 1-2 years just to play this game.

Deleting a guy’s comments because he had something negative to say about Shaw… priceless. Way to go 250 news
