Timberwolves Look for Soccer Success

Saturday, October 8, 2016 @ 6:54 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team would no doubt be thankful for a strong showing in Canada West action this weekend.

The lady T-Wolves have been faithfully putting in the hard work and effort in the 2016 season but have yet to record a victory in eight starts. Their 0 and 8 record leaves them in last place in the 8-team Pacific Division.

However, the Timberwolves will be out to change things this Thanksgiving weekend as they host 5th place Alberta today and tomorrow. Alberta comes into the weekend with a record of 4-2-2.

Both games are noon starts at North Cariboo Senior Soccer League Field.

The Timberwolves’ men’s team is off this weekend and resumes play hosting Victoria Saturday and Sunday, Oct 15th and 16th. UNBC sits in 5th place in the 7-team Pacific Division standings with a 3-8-1 record while UVIC is 7th with 3 wins, 7 losses in 10 starts.

The men’s games will start at 2:15pm, and again, that’s next weekend.

UNBC Athletics needs to drop the soccer program and replace it with volleyball. I have seen little to no success with UNBCs soccer program since joining CIS.
