Mounties Nab Armed Robbery Suspect
Quesnel, B.C. – A 48-year-old Quesnel man is in police custody following a harrowing robbery late last night in West Quesnel.
Quesnel RCMP Sgt. Chris Riddle says shortly after 11:00 p.m. the suspect entered a man’s vehicle demanding money.
He says the victim provided the suspect with a small amount of cash. The suspect then forced the victim to drive him to another location where he left the vehicle which allowed the victim to leave the area and seek help.
Due to a detailed description of the suspect, Riddle says police found and arrested the suspect without incident a short time later. He says the victim was shaken up but was not injured.
Riddle says police have recommended several charges including armed robbery and forcible confinement and notes the suspect will be held in custody pending his first court appearance.
His name has not been released.
