Sip Wine Fest Starts Friday
Prince George, B.C. – Northern B.C.’s first annual week long wine festival is just a few days away.
Sip Wine Fest takes place from October 28th – November 5th and will have something for everyone.
“Over the course of nine days everything from dinner wine pairings to a merlot and a movie night,” says organizer Sandy Whitwham. “We’ve got a wine crawl with sip stops where different companies will be doing different tastings throughout the week.”
She says over 20 B.C. wineries will be participating including Prince George’s Northern Lights Estate Winery – a local success story which snagged four awards – including Business of the Year – at last weekend’s annual Business Excellence Awards put on by the Prince George Chamber of Commerce.
Whitwham says the festival has been inspired in part by the success of Theatre North West’s International Wine Festival.
“That event sells out every year and so there’s an appetite for more events for people to experience, especially B.C. wine.”
