Prince George, B.C. – A Prince George man is in police custody following a suspicious incident early this morning.gun

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says at 2:30 a.m. police received a report of two men hiding in the bushes behind a residence on Cuddie Crescent.

Following a subsequent search police arrested 41-year-old Quinnton Vern Campbell. Campbell was found in possession of a replica BB gun, a steel hammer, a ski mask, a balaclava, a wig, and a sharpened screwdriver.

Douglass says the suspect was on conditions not to possess firearms. Campbell was charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Break-in Instruments and two counts of Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order.

Campbell has been remanded in custody at least until his next court appearance scheduled for November 2nd.

Considering this incident, Douglass cautions the public about the use of replica firearms.

“In order to protect themselves and the public, police officers must assume items that look like guns are in fact guns,” he says.

“Anyone in possession of replica guns should be aware that improper use could draw the attention of police and enhanced response.”
