Winter Carnival in the Works
Prince George, B.C. – Downtown Prince George is planning a celebration of winter early next year.
Building off the success of Downtown Summerfest, executive director Colleen Van Mook says the Downtown Winter Carnival will take place on February 12, 2017.
“We plan to transform Veteran’s Plaza and George Street into a winter playground in our downtown,” she says. “Bring your hockey sticks to join a fun road hockey game, get inspired with our snow sport demonstrations or test your talents at snow sculpting and painting.”
Van Mook says businesses and organizations will also be invited to participate in a Smore’s contest that invites participants to create their favourite recipes with all proceeds going to charity.
She says more details regarding the festival will be released in the coming months.
