UNBC Men Climb Into Win Column

Prince George, B.C. – The UNBC Timberwolves scored their first victory of the Canada West basketball season Friday night at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre.
The Timberwolves were led by Rhys Elliott’s 21-point night in defeating the Trinity Western Spartans 80-71. UNBC now has a 1 and 4 record on the season. Trinity Western, at 2 and 3, got 20 points from Patrick Vandervelden. The T’wolves held a 39-30 lead at the half. The teams meet again tonight at 7.
The women’s game saw Trinity Western score a 68-61 victory to up their record to 4 and 1. Jesse Brown paced the winners with 21 points. Maria Mongomo also scored 21 for the 0 and 5 Timberwolves. The women finish off the weekend set starting at 5 this afternoon.
