Quesnel , B.C. – A single vehicle roll over on the  Barkerville Highway  Saturday  has resulted in the death of one man.

RCMP say  they were called to the scene of a single vehicle roll over  about 4.5 kms  east of  the intersection with Highway 97 at around 2 in the afternoon  Saturday.

When they arrived on scene, they found a Ford  F-150 upside down in the ditch  and partially submerged in water.

The 71 year old  driver was trapped in the vehicle and was pulled from the truck  by police.  The man was taken by ambulance to GR Baker Hospital but later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.

The name of the victims is not being released at this time.

RCMP continue to investigate and would like some help from the public.  There were  people who witnessed this crash, and  police are  asking anyone who may have  seen the crash or  who has information on this matter, to  contact the Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211
