Prince George, B.C. – The results are in and it’ll be Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar wearing a Prince George Cougars jersey at a future Blazers game.
That’s partly the price Milobar will pay after Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall was successful in raising more money during last month’s Movember Challenge.
Under the terms of the bet the Kamloops mayor will also have to wear a Cougars jersey during a future city council meeting.
Unofficially, Hall says he raised “a little over $5,000” – about $1,400 ahead of his competitor.
In addition to growing a moustache, both mayors were raising funds for prostate cancer research and other men’s health issues.
To mark the end of the friendly competition, Hall had ‘George the Barber’ Blanis shave off his moustache. Blanis having just celebrated his 50th year in business in Prince George.
And though Hall won the challenge, he suggested afterwards his family are the big winners now that his moustache is gone.
“My family was kind of split. I think they liked the beard but they weren’t so keen on the moustache.”

You’re a better man than I . I tryed growing a stach a few years ago between the wife and the itch I couldn’t take it . On another note . Your name Lyn was by some deemed off or something which I could not understand . I too have an ancient name that goes back over a thousand years and have lived with ridicule from the ignorant . You likely know what it means . Mine is not Celtic for Lake , yours is . I’d just like to inform the ignorant . I think your name is cool . I also like mine . I’m not changing mine . Ever !
