Prince George, B.C. – A partnership between Waste Management, the Prince George Cougars and the Salvation Army is aiming to make Christmas a littler merrier for families in need this year.

Entitled ‘Fill the Bin’ – all three parties are encouraging fans to bring non-perishable food items to tonight’s game versus the Tri-City Americans.

If you can’t make the game you can drop off items in the bins at Northland Nissan and Nissan Hyundai until Dec. 23.

“We want to help out the Salvation Army Food Bank,” says Waste Management account manager Kayle Barker.

“This time of year, is always trying for organizations like that to keep up with the need and at Waste Management, we feel it’s our responsibility to be involved in the community we all live and work in.”

Business manager at the Salvation Army Bill Glasgow is thankful for the help and says they could really use protein based items.

“Canned fish, canned meats, peanut butter. Those are the kinds of things we really need a lot of. Cash donations are always welcome to help the food bank fill the shelves with specific needs.”
