RCMP Confirm Fourth Fire in as Many Days Suspicious

Monday, December 12, 2016 @ 4:01 PM

Prince George, B.C. – Police have confirmed a fire early Saturday morning was the fourth suspicious fire in as many days in Prince George.

Mounties have also confirmed that two of those blazes were at the same residence in the 2800 block of Nixon Crescent in the Hart – including the fire on Saturday.

“This was the second suspicious fire at this address in three days,” said Cpl. Craig Douglass. “All occupants exited the residence safely; however, the residence was a total loss.”

He said that fire and the other three this week – including another one Thursday on Michael Road off North Nechako Road and another early Wednesday morning on the 1200 block of Johnson Street – are all suspected arsons. Luckily no one has been injured.

“Police are deeply concerned about the recent string of suspicious fires,” added Douglass. “Although we cannot say that these fires are connected, we are looking into any possible connections that these residences or the persons in them may have.”

If you have any information you are asked to call police at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
