Air Quality Advisory for Prince George

Tuesday, December 13, 2016 @ 10:37 AM

Prince George, B.C. – An Air Quality  Advisory  has been issued for Prince George because of  high levels of  fine particulate .

At 10 this morning,  the  24 hour  rolling average of levels of PM 2.5  was sitting at 25.3  µg/m3.  The provincial target is 25 µg/m3.

The advisory means  the  City will be enacting its  Free Fare for Clean Air policy, providing free transit tomorrow  until the  end of the day when the advisory is cancelled.

The Advisory for Prince George  adds this City to  the string of Highway 16 corridor communities under similar advisory  as Houston, Vanderhoof and Valemount are also under Air Quality Advisories

Must be all that road dust and the abundance of wood burning appliances creating the AQ advisory. Never could be caused by industrial emissions.
