Teddy Bear Toss to Benefit Thousands

Prince George, BC – The Prince George Cougars Teddy Bear Toss last Saturday resulted in an abundance of items in addition to thousands of teddy bears.
In all, 5,973 items were tossed on to the ice when the Cougars scored their first goal in the second period. All of the items have been donated to the Prince George Salvation Army and include:
- Teddy bears: 3896
- Hats: 828
- Gloves/mitts: 691
- Socks: 478
- Clothing: 32
- Blankets: 25
These items will be distributed to people in need in Prince George.
The Prince George Salvation Army is sending a big “Thank You” to the community . “The stuffed animals will put smiles on kids’ faces this Christmas, and the warm weather gear will be deeply appreciated by those suffering in the cold” says Salvation Army Business Manager Bill Glasgow.
