Salvation Army Closes in on Fundraising Goal

Prince George, B.C. – Today’s your last chance to donate money to the Prince George Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign.

By the end of Thursday business manager Bill Glasgow says just over $233,000 had been raised. Their goal is to reach $250,000.sally-ann

“We are exactly $2 over where were last year at this point,” he says. “And I think we’re going to reach it because last year in the same amount of days we had one day left and this year we have an extra half day. So, I’m very confident.”

He says all the money raised stays local and goes to help fund the Salvation Army’s food bank and programming efforts.

“Thank-you Prince George,” added Glasgow. “Every year I’m blown away by the generosity of this town. The volunteers that come out and help us and the donors who make donations. It’s just a heart-warming time of year. God Bless Prince George.”

Today’s kettles will be collecting donations until 2 p.m. This year’s final fundraising total will be released on Wednesday.
