Council Bouyed by Building Permit Levels
Prince George, B.C.- The final numbers for building permits for 2016 are not yet in, but by all accounts, it looks to have been a record setting year.
As of the end of November, the year to date permit values have topped $125 million. That’s well above the $84.1 million recorded during the same eleven months last year, and the $119.8 million recorded in 2014.
The construction of single family dwellings has topped the previous two years as well, with 143 permits issued as of the end of November 2016, compared to 108 during the same period in 2015, and 114 in 2014.
Councillor Brian Skakun says the 2016 numbers are a positive sign “I think it’s a record amount and I think it shows a confidence not only in our community, but throughout the province and beyond.”
Mayor Lyn Hall is also pleased “Ther is no question, you take a look at a $125 million dollars and this is until the end of November and those are spectacular numbers. We’re seeing it throughout the community, from Inland Kenworth , to we take a look at what is going beyond throughout the entire town, and it is a remarkable number and there are good things happening for 2017 as well, we are on the horizon for that. It is by all means, great news.”

Bouyed? You forgot spell-check! Isn’t it buoyed?
Nope. “Boyed” .. as in: “boy oh boy, we sure got boyed with that one!”
Or…. “Got boyed that time, Winnifred… good for you !! ”
Stay safe folks.
