Prince George, B.C. – The United States has handed Canada a 3-1 loss at the IIHF World Junior Hockey championships in Toronto.
In their final preliminary round game featuring two unbeaten teams, the U.S. played a strong game and received excellent goaltending that stymied every Canadian attack save one to lock up first place in Pool B with a 4 and 0 record. Canada finishes at 3 and 1.
With their opponents still to be determined later tonight, the two teams will play in the quarter-finals on Monday, January 2nd, the U.S. playing in Toronto while Canada plays in Montreal.
