Air Quality Advisory in Effect for Vanderhoof

Vanderhoof, B.C. – High concentrations of fine particulate matter have prompted an air quality advisory in Vanderhoof.
The Ministry of Environment says the air quality objective for PM 2.5, is 25 micrograms per cubic metre averaged over 24 hours.
Currently the concentration for Vanderhoof is 26 and the ministry expects the high concentrations to persist until Thursday.
In light of the advisory, those with underlying medical conditions are asked to postpone strenuous exercised until the advisory is lifted.
Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those with diabetes, lung or heart disease.
