Provincial Budget Telephone Town Hall Tonight for Northerners
Prince George, B.C. – Tonight’s the night for those interested in participating in provincial budget discussions.
Finance Minister Mike de Jong is holding a telephone town hall at 7 p.m. for residents in the central Interior and in northern, B.C.
Communities receiving calls include Prince George, Vanderhoof, Williams Lake, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Quesnel, Ashcroft, Chetwynd, Fort Nelson, Tumbler Ridge, Lillooet, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.
Residents with landlines and those who have signed up online with their cell phone numbers will receive a call just before 7 p.m. to join the one-hour conversation.
The minister will take questions directly from callers and ask all those taking part to participate in a few poll questions that aim to get their priorities for the budget.
Those with cell phones wanting to join the call can register by clicking here.

Love it when Politicians act like they actually give a crap what the commoners think. I can picture the politicians at the other end of the phone with their feet up on the desk, smoking big cigars, laughing, phone on mute, mocking callers with hand and face gestures. Folks would be better off calling Telus and listen to the “Your call is important to us” recording for an hour.
Cynical much? Just view the town hall online, the December town hall was broadcast online or you could sit in a chair and watch it live in Victoria – this one will probably be similar. You can also watch the archived video to see DeJong with his “feet up on the desk”.
Go down and visit Morris and Bond in their office, they want to talk to people in their riding. You might miss the Price is Right and part of Judge Judy but it will get you some sun or at the very least a bit of vitamin D in your system.
You got that right. Didn’t hear from our politicians for four years but at election time its a different picture. We want to hear from you.
Cheers
amen brother amen
