Red Deer, Alta – The Prince George Cougars started their four-game swing through Alberta on the wrong end of a 4-1 decision to the Red Deer Rebels last night.

Aaron Boyd scored the lone Cougar goal late in the third period to spoil Lasse Petersen’s shut-out bid.

Evan Polei and Alexander Alexeyev had two points each for the victors.

Red Deer outshot Prince George 31-24. Ty Edmonds allowed three goals in the first before making way for backup Nick McBride.

Brenden Guhle was sick and did not play for the Cougars while fellow defenceman Tate Olson was injured in the first period and did not return.

The Cougars continue their road trip tomorrow night in Medicine Hat.
