MP’s Bill Returns to House
Prince George, B.C.- Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty will see his Private Members Bill C-211 return to the House of Commons on February 9th for second reading.
The Bill calls on the Federal Government to develop a national framework to deal with PTSD and the mental health challenges which face members of the military, veterans and first responders.
“I’m fired up for it” says MP Doherty ” We’ve got first responders that are going to be in the gallery for this.”
He says it will be a good opportunity to “Look the others across the way in the eyes and share with them the importance of this bill.”
It has been a project Doherty has been working on even before he was elected . “We’ve done a lot of work on this, I am hopeful we get to third reading. I was also part of the committee that studied the impacts for the establishment of a national framework in the fight against PTSD, OSI (Operational Stress Injury) so it has already been studied and it ( results) were released in early fall.”
He is hopeful that committee work will help move the bill along through the process a little faster “This bill is so important that it needs to get passed, it ensures it’s a line item, whether it’s with this government or future governments, so we can provide the help that is so desperately needed and we don’t lose another life.”

Would love to see this bill pushed through for the sake of those battered individuals who do incredible things to keep the rest of us safe.
C’mon JT, just because you didn’t think of it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t move forward. And quit insulting people. When you’re asked a question in english, reply in english.
